My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer over one year ago (at the time a Gleason 7) but a recent biopsy indicated it was becoming more aggressive and a radical prostatectomy was recommended. We sought an Atlanta-area based surgeon skilled in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and over the course of a few weeks met in person with 4 local urologists (and 1 in Florida virtually) all of whom advertised an expertise in robotic surgery. At the end of our search, we settled on Dr. Zurawin and Urology of Greater Atlanta (UGA) and we are so glad we did!
We had initially sought a surgeon who had been in practice longer than Dr. Zurawin, but one meeting with him convinced us he had the skill, passion, confidence and surgical experience we sought, and he did not disappoint. Dr. Zurawin is a very talented surgeon and everyone we dealt with at UGA, from Dr. Zurawin’s surgical team to billing and scheduling, was professional, responsive and caring. One thing that set the UGA practice apart is that everyone there that we dealt with in advance of the surgery got back to us within 24 hours (to say we did not have a similar experience with the other area practices would be a gross understatement).
My husband was scheduled for surgery at Piedmont Henry Hospital within 5 weeks of our initial meeting with Dr. Zurawin (many other practices we consulted said we’d have to wait over 10 weeks). The care my husband received at the hospital was 1st rate and so far, post-surgery, he has had virtually no pain and zero complications. We feel so fortunate to have found this practice and Dr. Zurawin!! We’d give him many more stars if we could-he’s terrific!
